Rosalydia Flores

“My name is Rosalydia Flores. Since I
accepted Jesus as my Savior 44 years ago, I
have been part of other churches with my five kids. Five years ago I started praying for a church for me and my family, not any church, I mean a Biblical church. One day I came from work and I found a bag at my door announcing a new church (Willimantic Baptist Church). I accepted the invitation and I’m here. I’m here with half of my family. I’m sure the rest of my are going to be part of this church because I believed Joshua 24:15. And this means this is
the place for me!”

Pastor Doug Meader

​My name is Pastor Doug Meader. I have pastored for over 30 years. While pastoring one church, we started two other churches in different cities. God has blessed and we thank Him for His leading and enabling. God is great and greatly to be praised!

When starting the church in Willimantic, Spanish speaking people visited. By God's grace we began to have bilingual services. We sing hymns in Spanish and English, and preach in both languages. The children are learning Spanish in the children's ministry. It is exciting to see God work mightily for His glory.

Our Story

What do you do when you start a church and  Spanish speaking people come to visit at your opening service and you don't speak Spanish? That is what started us on this journey. We prayed and did our best by God's grace. People kept coming. People were getting saved. People were excited that there was a church that was preaching and teaching the Bible. And then God provided a man to translate for us. Then God enabled me to learn Spanish through a missionary pastor in Peru. Today we have a bilingual independent Baptist Church that is continuing to grow and reach their community with the life changing gospel of Jesus Christ.
